My Background
- A career in natural resources allowed me to work and live in locales that others were only able to enjoy in their leisure time. Though art has been a lifelong pursuit, my college education was centered mostly around forestry, with some art history. Mid-career I began to add post-graduate university coursework in screen printing and photography, as well as independent studies in watercolor and waterless lithography.

- Though I enjoy many mediums including acrylic and pen and ink, over time I have gravitated more toward linocut printmaking. At times I like to incorporate small portions of unfinished or imperfect pieces--particularly gelatin plate prints--letting them evolve into mosaics of shape and color that are rich and new.

- Much of my adult life has been spent in and around forests and the ocean, working, playing and observing. Surrounded by shorebirds and salmon, fishing boats and ferries, the ever-changing light and shifting weather of the seasons, Alaska generously provides subjects for interpretation in paint, ink, photography and pen.
